Who was crowned the "new" Roman emperor in 800 AD

    Well I will say there was none, because the history say that the Roman Empire ended in the year AD. However, the pope crowned Charlemagne as the emperor of the Holy Roman Empire on Christmas Eve of 800 AD. This what I know, maybe I am wrong!
