What was the supreme court's decision in barron v. Baltimore in 1833?

The court held that the plaintiff cannot claim on the ground of protection granted by the fifth amendment to the Constitution. It nowhere expressed that the Bill of Rights also restricts the powers of State governments. Thus the State of Maryland through actions of the city of Baltimore did not violate the constitution. With no federal claim on which plaintiff relies, the supreme court cannot hear the case of Barron, therefore, dismissed it.
