Why are witnesses important to a criminal case? who should be interviewing them?

    Usually a highly trained police officer or a detective will interview a witness, witnesses can tell professionals how a situation layed out and what happened to the victim (s). Sometimes witnesses aren't much of use in serious situations because of trauma or they simply weren't paying attention
