What was the impact of the griswold v. Connecticut ruling? Couples were required to keep marriage vows private. Couples were allowed to keep their marriage decisions private. Couples were expected to obey state law regarding marriage. Couples were encouraged to regard their marriage as sacred.

    Explanation:

    In 1879 a law was passed stating that any person who uses any drug, medicinal article or instrument for the purposes of preventing conception shall be fined not less than forty dollars or imprisoned not less than sixty days.

    In 1965 Grissworld the then director of Planned Parenthood League of Connecticut challenged this law on the basis that this was against constitution. The Supreme Court in Griswold Vs Connecticut case ruled that the law violated the couple's right ot marital privacy in a 7-2 decision wirtten by Justice Willian O Douglas.
