A garden table and a bench cost $898 combined. The garden table costs $52 less than the bench. What is the cost of the bench?

    T + b = 898

    t = b - 52

    (b - 52) + b = 898

    2b - 52 = 898

    2b = 898 + 52

    2b = 950

    b = 950/2

    b = 475 < = = = cost of the bench (b)
