The lengths of the side of a triangle are 5 cm, 12 cm, and 13 cm. Find the lengths, to the nearest tenth, of the segments into which the bisector of each angle divides the opposite side.

    Side 13 cm the line is divided in the ratio 5:12

    so segment lengths are (5/17) * 13 and (12/17) * 13 = 3.8cm and 9.2

    in similar way side 12 segments would be (5/18) * 12 and (13/18) * 12

    side 5 cm - segments would be (12/25) * 5 and (13/25) * 5
