How do you write 7/9 in a decimal and does the decimal terminate or repeat

    7/9=0.777777 ...

    So therefore the decimal actually recurs.

    You can tell if a decimal recurs:

    If the denominator can be factorised into 2s and 5s, then it will terminate e. g. 1/20=1/5*2*2 so it terminates.

    If you can't factorise it with 2s and 5s the decimal will recur e. g. 7/9=7/1*9 so it recurs.
