A grocer took a random survey of 40 customers. 12 customers would like the store to stay open later. Suppose the grocer surveyed 100 more customers. How many of those 100 customers would likely want the store to stay open later?

    B 30 ... To solve this first you look at the initial numbers you have been given. 12 out of 40 is 3 out of 10 when you simplify it. So you do 3/10 * 10/10 to get 30/100 or in word form 30 out of 100. Then you know the answer is 30.
