The radius of the Earth is apprximately 3,960 miles, while the radius of the Moon is approximately 1,080 miles. How many times larger is the surface area of the Earth than the surface area of the Moon?

    Surface area = 4πr²

    Surface area for Earth = 4π*3960²

    Surface area for Moon = 4π*1080²

    Times larger = (4π*3960²) / (4π*1080²) = (3960/1080) ²

    ≈ 13.44 times
