A ladder leans against the side of a house. The top of the ladder is 10 ft from the ground. The bottom of the ladder is 6 ft from the side of the house. Find the length of the ladder. If necessary, round your answer to the nearest tenth

    A^2 + b^2 = c^2

    10^2 + 6^2 = c^2

    100 + 36 = c^2

    136 = c^2

    sqrt 136 = c

    11.7 = c ... the ladder is 11.7 ft
