5 (2x - 8) + 15 = - 15

what is the solution? what are the steps to find the solution?

    So first you will use the distributive property and get 10x-40+15=-15 then combine like terms making it 10x-25=-15 then use the addition property of equality to get 10x=10 and then divide each side by 10 to find that x=1
