Suppose y = sqrt (2x + 1) where x and y are functions of t.?

    We are given the equation or function y = sqrt (2x + 1). The derivative of the equation is expressed as

    1. dy/dt = 0.5 * 2 * (2x + 1) ^-0.5 dx/dt

    when x = 4 and dx/dt = 3

    dy/dt = 0.5 * 2 * 3 * (2*4 + 1) ^-0.5

    dy/dt = 1

    2. dy/dt = 0.5 * 2 * (2x + 1) ^-0.5 dx/dt

    If dy/dt = 5, find dx/dt when x = 12.

    5 = 0.5 * 2 (2*12 + 1) ^-0.5 dx/dt

    dx/dt = 1
