If you get a shirt for $25 dollars and the original price is $40 what is the discount you got?

    40 (100-d) / 100=25

    40 (100-d) = 2500

    4000-40d=2500

    -40d=-1500

    d=37.5%]

    So there was a 37.5% discount off of the original price.
