Since standard form is ax + by = c, what does the slope of a line (m) in standard form equal in terms of a and b?

    Ax + by = c

    by = - ax + c

    y = (-a/b) x + c

    y = mx + b

    y = (-a/b) x + c

    so m = - a/b
