    An absolute value equation that has one solution can be

    |8x| = 0

    8x = 0

    -8x = 0

    x1 = x2 = 0

    In this case, the answer for both equations is zero. If otherwise this is a constant, then the two x's have different values then. There are two solutions then otherwise.
