Determine whether f (x) = 2x^2 - 6x + k has a maximum or minimum value, and determine the maximum or minimum value.

a) maximum value: k

b) minimum value: k

c) maximum value: k-9/2

d) minimum value: k-9/2

e) minimum value: k+9/2

    Since it is a parabola if there is no negative sign in front of the equation then it will have a minimum.

    The standard form of a quadratic is ax^2+bx+c

    When a>0 then the equation will have a minimum.

    When a<0 then the equation will have a maximum.

    Honestly I have no idea what to do after that. The k is throwing me off.
