    X^4 - 3x^2 + 2

    = (x^2 - 1) (x^2 - 2)

    Note that x^-1 is the difference of 2 squares:-

    = (x + 1) (x - 1) (x^2 - 2) Answer

    I guess you want to find its roots (its zeros). If so then:

    Le X = x²

    X²-3X+2 = 0 Solve this quadratic equation:

    X₁ = [-b+√ (b² - 4. a. c) ]/2a and X₂ = [-b-√ (b² - 4. a. c) ]/2a

    X₁ = [+3+√ (9-8) ]/2 X₂ = [+3-√ (9-8) ]/2

    X₁ = 4/2 = 2 and X₂ = 2/2 = 1

    but X = x², then:

    x' = + √X₁ and x" = - √X₁; x"' = + √X₂ and x"" = - √X₂

    x' = √2, x" = - √2; x'" = 1 and x"" = - 1
