The cost to a store for a a box of cereal is $2.50. The store is selling the box of cereal for $3.50. What is the percent markup?

    If the store bought it for $2.50 and they are selling it for $3.50

    They marked up the box by $1

    1/2.50 = 0.4

    which is a 40% markup
