Two types of barrel units were in use in the 1920s in the united states. the apple barrel had a legally set volume of 7056 cubic inches; the cranberry barrel, 5826 cubic inches. if a merchant sells 41 cranberry barrels of goods to a customer who thinks he is receiving apple barrels, what is the discrepancy in the shipment volume in liters (l) ? give your answer as a positive number.

    1.) 7,056 * 41 = 289,296 (apple barrel volume * no. of barrels sold)

    5,826 * 41 = 238,866 (cranberry barrel volume * no. of barrels sold)

    2.) Subtract cranberry barrel volume from apple barrel volume

    289,296 - 238,866 = 50,430 cubic inches

    3.) Convert 50,430 cubic inches to liters

    50,430 = 826.39 liters or 826.40 liters (rounded off)

    4.) Therefore, 826.40 liters is the discrepancy in the shipment volume.
