Paul bought a hat on sale for $15. The original price of the hat was $25. What is the percent discount Paul received?

    100-60=40%.

    First, you must find out the amount that you bought it for compared to the original price. If you paid 15, and it was 25, then dividing them will tell you what the price ratio was.
