A manufacturer ships out 7,234 boxes of coffee cups. Each box contains 1,000 cups. How many cups did the manufacturer ship out? Solve and explain your thinking.

    Cups manufactured = boxes X cups per box.

    = 7,234 X 1,000

    = 7234000.00

    if each box manufactured contained a thousand cups, then times the number of boxes by cups.
