    1) (x - 4) ² = 0

    x - 4 = 0

    x = 4

    2) x (x + 1) (x - 1) = 0

    x = 0 or x = - 1 or x = 1

    For the first question, the value of x is 4.

    For the second question, the value of x can either be 0, - 1 or 1.

    1. add four to both sides, and then four the exponent, it basically just means to times the number by itself said number of times, so you could turn it into 2x, which then you'd just divide both sides by 2, so x=2 (unsure if this one is correct, feel free to check and correct me if I'm wrong)

    2. 5x=0 and then divide by five which gives x=0
