Which lines are parallel? Justify your answer. Lines a and b are parallel because their alternate exterior angles are congruent. Lines a and b are parallel because their same side exterior angles are supplementary. Lines e and f are parallel because their alternate exterior angles are congruent.     Parallel lines are lines that are always the same distance apart.

    The Exterior Angle is the angle between any side of a shape (in our case the line), and a line extended from the next side.

    For parallel lines the following statement holds:

    Lines e and f are parallel because their alternate exterior angles are congruent.
