A rectangular park has an area of 6 square miles. The width of the property is 3/8 the length of the property. What is the width of the property?

    W=3L/8, L=8W/3

    A=LW and using L from above this becomes:

    A = (8W^2) / 3 and A=6 so

    6 = (8W^2) / 3

    18=8W^2

    9/4=W^2

    W=3/2=1.5 miles
