Jacob is trying to figure out what to wear to school. He has 5 shirts, 3 pairs of pants and 2 pairs of socks to choose from. How many outfits can he make.

    Technically he has 6*4*3=72 different outfits (considering that he could also choose not to wear an item also ...)

    But I would imagine that the question does not allow for that option so ...

    5*3*2=30 outfits.
