Find the dimensions of a rectangle whose perimeter is 16 meters and whose area is 15 square meters.

    2 (x+y) = 16,

    x+y=16/2=8

    y=8-x

    x*y=15

    x (8-x) = 15

    8x-x^2=15

    x^2-8x+15=0

    x^2-3x-5x+15=0

    x (x-3) - 5 (x-3) = 0

    (x-3) (x-5) = 0

    x=3,5

    when x=3

    y=8-3=5

    when x=5

    y=8-5=3

    length=5 meters

    width=3 meters.

    If the angles sides are labeled as A, B, C, and D, with A and B opposite from eachother as well as C to D. then angles A and B would have to be equivalent. if the area = 15 (area=LxH) then the dimensions would have to be 3 and 5 because 5 and 3 are the only two whole numbers that make a product of 15. Since A and B would have to be equal to each other then they would be 5 or 3, as well as C and D. added up in total if A = 5 B = 5 C = 3 D=3 (5+5+3+3=16) (perimeter = All sides/faces added)
