The length of the rectangular garden is twice the width. If the perimeter the garden is 30 feet, find the area of the garden.

    Perimeter = 2l + 2w

    30 = 2 (2w) + 2w

    30 = 4w + 2w

    30 = 6w

    w = 30/6

    w = 5

    l = 2w = 2 (5) = 10

    area = w = (5) (10) = 50
