Together two people earn 28,000 one earns 2,000 more than the other. How much is the smaller income?

    The smaller income is 12,000. 28 / 2 = 14 - 2 = 12

    The smaller income will be 12,000. if you split it in half, you will get 14,000 and 14,000. take away 2,000 from one of the 14,000's, and add that 2,000 to the other 14,000. so the smallest income will be worth 12,000.
