Yes, 2.5 (3+x) is equivalent to 2.5x+7.5 because when you do distribute property you have to distribute this 2.5 (3+x). you have to multiply 2.5*3 which equals 7.5 and 2.5 * x is 2.5x so when u put them together its 2.5x+7.5
