    The coordinates of triangle ABC have been multiplied by a scale factor of 0.5

    In other words, the coordinates have been cut in half or they divided each coordinate value over 2

    eg: (-3,4) - - > (-1.5, 2)

    since - 3/2 = - 1.5 and 4/2 = 2

    The resulting figure is smaller. Specifically the linear dimensions are half that as the original.
