An after school dance program has a total of 27 students. Two thirds of the dance student are Girls. How Many girls are in the program? How many boys? what fraction of the class are boys?

18 are girls, 9 are boys l, and the fraction is 1/3

So the total is 27

so to find how many girls there are u have to do 2/3 of 27 to do this u have to do 27 : 3 which is 9.

Then because the numerator is greater than 1 you have to do 9 x 2 which is 18.

So now that u know the girl students u need to do 27-18 which is 9. That means that there are 9 boy students.

To find the fraction u need to:

u now it is out of 27 so it will be 9/27

but u will have to simplify to 1/3.
