    X² + 10x + 25 = 16

    x² + 10x + 25 - 16 = 0

    x² + 10x + 9 = 0

    (x + 1) (x + 9) = 0

    x (x+9) + 1 (x+9) = 0

    x² + 9x + x + 9 = 0

    x² + 10x + 9 = 0

    (x + 1) = 0

    x = - 1

    (x + 9) = 0

    x = - 9
