The ratio of the surface areas of two similar solids is 16:144 what is the ratio of their corresponding side lengths

    To calculate for the ratio of the corresponding lengths we proceed as follows:

    linear scale factor=√ (area scale factor)

    plugging our values in the formula we obtain:

    LSF=√16/144=√4²/12²=2/12

    thus the ratio of the lengths will be 2:12
