We just need to substitute the x by - 2 in the function:

    f (x) = (x - 4) + 8x

    f (-2) = (-2 - 4) + 8 (-2)

    f (-2) = (-6) - 16

    f (-2) = - 6 - 16

    f (-2) = - 22
