Let Jackson's savings be X and the tuition be Y

he spent 1/5X for his first year of college

he spent 2/3 of 1/5X on his tuition

    so the fraction spent on tuition is (3/2 x 1/5) X = 3/10X

so Jackson spent 3/10 of his savings on tuition

from here we can write the equation as (3/2x1/5) X=Y
