    f (x) = x^2 + 1

    f (1) = 1 ^2 + 1 = 2

    so 2f (1) = 2 (2) = 4

    g (x) = 3x + 1

    f (4) = 3 (4) + 1 = 13

    3g (4) = 3 (13) = 39

    2f (1) + 3g (4) = 4 + 39 = 43

    answer

    2. 43
