What is the discriminant if the equation 8x^2-2x+4=0

    Discriminant = b^2 - 4ac

    where a=8 b=-2 and c=4 in the quadratic equation ax^2 + bx + c = 0

    discriminant = (-2) ^2 - 4 * (8) * (4) = - 124
