    width = x

    length = 0.5x + 9

    2 (x + 0.5x + 9) = 60

    1.5x + 9 = 60/2

    1.5x + 9 = 30

    1.5x = 30 - 9

    1.5x = 21

    x = 21/1.5

    x = 14 cm ← width

    length = 0.5x + 9 = 0.5 * 14 + 9 = 7 + 9 = 16 cm

    The length is 16cm each side because 16+16 = 32 and then 60-32 = 28 and divide 28 by 2 is 14 and 14 by 2 is 7 and so the length minus half the width is 9. 16-7 is 9
