    X+3y=19

    x=19-3y

    -6 (19-3y) - 4y = - 16

    -114+18y-4y = - 16

    -114+14y = - 16

    14y = (-16+114)

    14y = 98

    y = (98/14)

    y = 7

    x+3 (7) = 19

    x+21=19

    x = (19-21)

    x = - 2
