Absolute value simply means the distance the number is from zero. How far is - 4 from 0? It’s 4 away from zero. Look at a number line to make it easier. Count the numbers and you’ll realize that - 4 is 4 places away from zero. With that being said, take any number and take the absolute value of it ... it’s positive.
