    X + (x-12) = 38

    2x = 50

    x = 25

    Another number is 25-12 = 13

    So ... the numbers 25 and 13 added equals to the sum of 38 ... when you subtract 13 from 25, your difference is 12. Therefore, your answer is 25+13 = 28 and 25-13 = 12.
