if they washed 0 cars ...

p = 6 (0) - 35

p = - 35 ... there would be no profit, just a loss of $ 35

if they washed 20 cars ...

p = 6 (20) - 35

p = 120 - 35

p = 85 ... there would be a profit of $ 85

if they washed 45 cars ...
