The measure of one supplementary angle is 45 degrees more than twice the measure of the other. Write an equation to find the measure of each angle. Solve to find each angle

    Supplementary means they add up to 180°

    x=2y+45

    180 = x+y

    plug in

    180 = 2y+45+y

    180=3y+45

    -45 both sides

    135=3y

    :3 both sides

    45=y

    solve for X

    plug in

    x=2 (45) + 45x

    x=90+45

    x=135

    y=45
