    2x + 3y = 12

    2x - y = 4 so y = 2x - 4

    substitute y = 2x - 4 into 2x + 3y = 12

    2x + 3y = 12

    2x + 3 (2x - 4) = 12

    2x + 6x - 12 = 12

    8x = 24

    x = 3

    y = 2x - 4 = 2 (3) - 4 = 2

    (3,2)

    answer

    the coordinates (3,2)
