Will the piece of plywood fit through the door if it is tilted diagonally?

A. No, because the length of the diagonal is close to 9 feet.

B. No, because the height of the door is less than 10 feet.

    By the Pythagorean Theorem:

    d^2=x^2+y^2

    d^2=8^2+4^2

    d^2=64+16

    d^2=80

    d=√80

    d=4√5 ft

    d≈8.944

    So

    A. No because the diagonal is close to 9 feet.
