sec x = 1 / cos x
cos (-π/4) = cos (π/4) as even function
cos (π/4) = (√2) / 2
sec (-π/4) = 1 / (cos (-π/4)) = 1/cos (π/4) = 2 / (√2)
sec² (-π/4) = (2 / (√2)) ² = 4/2=2
sec² (-π/4) = 2
