About 41.25 miles each day if you take 310 miles and subtract it by 145 miles and get 165 then you divide by 4 days you get 41.25 miles

You want to subtract the amount he already has ridden (145) by that he has to to total (310) to get how many he has left (165).

    310-145=165

he should ride about 41.25 miles a day
