How do you solve this |7p+4| : 8 = 3

    |7p+4|/8=3

    1/8 (|7p+4|) = 3

    Divide both sides by 1/8.

    1/8 (|7p+4|) 1/8=3/1/8

    |7p+4|=24

    Solve Absolute Value.

    |7p+4|=24

    7p+4=24 or 7p+4=-24

    7p+4=24

    7p+4-4=24-4 (Subtract 4 from both sides)

    7p=20

    7p/7=20/7 (Divide both sides by 7)

    p=20/7

    7p+4=-24

    7p+4-4=-24-4 (Subtract 4 from both sides)

    7p=-28

    7p/7=-28/7 (Divide both sides by 7)

    p=-4
