(2x - 9) (4x + 1) = (2x + - 9) (4x + 1) = (2x) (4x) + (2x) (1) + (-9) (4x) + (-9) (1) = 8 x^2 + 2x - 36x - 9 Answer: 8 x^2 - 34x - 9

If you add bith of the x's you'll get 6x and if you combine the - 9 and + 1 you'll get - 8 which leaves you with 6x-8
