    I = sure root of - 1

    i * i = - 1

    4*-9 = - 36

    i*i=-1

    -1*-36=36

    (4i) (-9i) = (-9*4) (i*i) = - 36*i^2 = 36

    By simplifying i^2 to - 1 and using the associative property
